Livestock Water for Droughts

Six stock water or alternative livestock watering systems were installed this winter in Scott and Shasta Valleys. Funding for these projects was provided by California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Fun and Safety with Chainsaws!

SVRCD staff participated in a chainsaw training class hosted by the Shasta-Trinity Forest Service fire crew. The event was very educational with great instruction not only during the classroom day but also the field day. Thanks to the Siskiyou Land Trust for allowing the field day to be on the Luginbuhl property to practice using the chainsaws in real life situations.

Osgood Fuel Break Project Update - Video

Big changes are happening on the north end of Yreka! This fall, implementation began on the Osgood Fuel Break Project. This project is designed to extend the previously completed Yreka Ridge Fuel Break. Upper Shasta RIver Assessment

The SVRCD is actively collecting basic information about irrigation diversions in the Upper Shasta River watershed. Letters were sent out to more than 70 of the 300 plus landowners to gather details of irrigation ditch diversions in Carrick, Boles, Beaughton, Dale, Eddy Creeks and the Shasta River above Dwinell Dam in the Edgewood and Weed reaches.
